…임을 하느님은 아신다[하늘은 안다](자기가 말하는 내용이 사실임을 강조하는 말)

 

 

 

 

used to emphasize that you do not understand something at all or have no knowledge of something at all

어떤 것을 전혀 이해하지 못하거나 어떤 것에 대해 전혀 지식이 없다는 것을 강조할 때 사용

 

ex)

"What did he mean by that?" "God knows!"

"그 말은 무슨 뜻이었나요?" "누가 아나요!"

 

 

 

 

If someone says God knows in reply to a question, they mean that they do not know the answer.

어떤 사람이 질문에 대해 "God knows"라고 말한다면, 그 사람은 그 대답을 모른다는 뜻

 

ex)

'Where is he now?' 'God knows.'

뭔가를 모르거나, 뭔가 불합리하다고 생각해서 짜증이 난다는 뜻을 표현하는데 사용

무엇인가가 알려지지 않았다는 것을 강조하기 위해 사용

 

ex)
