to decide that a planned event, especially a sports event, will not happen, or to end an activity because it is no longer useful or possible

계획된 이벤트, 특히 스포츠 이벤트를 하지 않을 것이라고 결정하거나, 더 이상 유용하지 않거나 가능하지 않기 때문에 활동을 종료하는 것

 

ex)

Tomorrow's match has been called off because of the icy weather.

내일 경기는 추운 날씨 때문에 취소되었습니다.

 

 

 

1. to cancel or abandon

취소하거나 포기하다

 

ex)

the game was called off because of rain

비 때문에 경기가 취소되었습니다

 

 

2. to order (an animal or person) to desist; summon away

(동물이나 사람에게) 그만두라고 명령하다; 소환하다

 

ex)
