To 'be onto something or someone' is to be aware of other information relating to the situation, esp. when someone is trying to deceive you

'be onto something or someone'하는 것은 상황과 관련된 다른 정보를 알고 있다는 의미이며, 특히 누군가가 당신을 속이려고 할 때 그렇습니다.

 

ex)

Everybody is onto you – why don’t you admit you lied?

모두가 당신에 대해 알고 있는데 왜 당신은 거짓말을 했다는 걸 인정하지 않습니까?

 

 

 

If someone 'is onto something', they are about to discover something important.

누군가가 'is onto something'이라면, 그들은 중요한 무언가를 발견하게 될 것입니다.

 

ex)

He leaned across the table and whispered to me, 'I'm really onto something.'
